Who - Dan, Ron, Henry, and Daiki
Kata =
Ron -
a) Started early around 8:30. Worked with Ron on Chuden Seitei kata 1,2,and 3
b) Ron had trouble with rolling the gyaku kesa to kesa on chuden kata 2.
c) Emphasized targeting area on the nukitsuke of seitei kata 3
d) Emphasized the order of saya, foot, and chiburi for seitei kata 3
e) Tsuka should face forward not towards the center before sui hei nukitsuke
f) no tippy cuts for sui hei nukitsuke
Daiki -
a) Reintroduced Toyama kata 6 and 7.
b) Had some confusion on footwork on kata 6 but picked it up quickly
c) Emphasized to not over tsuki on kata 7
d) Make sure transition to jodan and then to seigan during kata 7 is "big"
Henry -
a) worked with Ron on kata 1-3 for chuden seitei kata
b) Mentioned the changes to the chuden seitei kata 4 in which the cuts are gyaku kesa, chudan, and then gedan
c) Change in chuden kata 8 where at the end, you step back as you push your sword out during chiburi
Dan -
a) was late
b) needs to slow down cuts and emphasize big and strong over fast and whippy, this could also be due to the lightness of his sword
c) his tsuba is blinding
d) nukitsuke has improved from monday
e) likes to turn his front foot somewhat diagonally after a cut
Nukitsuke Practice

Henry - not that much weight behind the cut
Dan - okie...must incorporate jo ha kyu better
Daiki - angle of blade during gyaku kesa is no good, and cuts with tip instead of actually cutting with the monouchi
Gekken
Ron - stood his ground, needs to facemask with shield
Daiki - weak in gauging distance, likes to do gyaku kesa then gedan. Must learn to pressure
Henry - using jodan in wrong way, likes to overswing and leave himself open, reacts slowly to counter
Dan - needs to stop hitting after the first hit for safety reasons, swings are not "heavy" but reaction is good, and likes to swing wildly after the first whiff.
Daiki paid 30 dollars for class.
