Who - Dan and Hendo
Kata - self study. Everyone worked on something different.
Cutting -
Sang -4
Henry - 2
Dan - 2
Henry -
1) Kesa, gyaku kesa
a) first gykau kesa was perfect, nice and effortless
b) kesa towards the right foot, too much right hand. Instead of making a curve, the line of the cut should be straight
c) gyaku kesa from the right side is too flat, hence the forward momentum on the cut
2) Kesa, Gyaku kesa (used kotetsu)
a) okie
Dan -
1) Sayu Kesa
a) okie!
2) Nukitsuke
a) not enough tip speed
b) not enough hips
c) sword might be too heavy
d) good try...next time
Sang -
1) Inazuma + gyaku inazuma
a) inazuma okie
b) gyaku inazuma, i missed the second cut...booo
2) Mizu gaeshi
a) okie
3+4) Nami gaeshi
a) first kesa is fine, must push off with the foot and swing up to cut the gyaku kesa....make sure the two cuts are even
b) sui hei okie
tombo -
a) for me, from the left side, turn the sword a bit to the left, and swing out and smoothly. First cut first.....
