Who - Dan, Henry, Ron, Andy, Fumi

Worked on - Kata
Henry worked with Andy....notes for Andy
Going over basic cuts with Andy.
-Went over Jodan, Chudan, Gedan, Kesa(both sides), Gyaku Kesa(both sides), Suihei.
-Concentrated on correcting his cutting motion. Emphasis on pushing the sword up rather than pulling forward and throwing the sword out as much as possible.
-Explained the proper way of stopping a sword so it doesn't bounce at the end. Elbow against chest, not to muscle the sword to stop.
-Arms were straight when cutting.
-Seemed to breath properly, but his posture was very tight throughout the whole exercise.
-Joudan, Chuudan and Gedan seemed to be alright, but could use some improvement. Also, needs to stop pulling the sword forward when trying to cut.
-Had a bit of difficulty trying to follow the center line with his left hand when doing Kesa.
-Had trouble transitioning from Kesa to Wakigomai.
-Trouble with performing Gyukesa. Overextending at the end and his stance becomes unstable.

for Ron -
- chuden seitei kata ipponmae
a)remember that the kissaki on the nukitsuke is a bit higher than the hand cutting across the chest
b) bigger cuts
c) use your hips and momentum to cut instead of your arms
d) take your time on seigan, chiburi, and noto
- chuden seitei kata nihonmae
a) on the draw, both feet should be facing 90 degrees away from the opponent until tsuki, where the feet then points towards the opponent
b) remember to keep the tsuki leveled and should hit the heart
